EFCA announces the Young Professional of the Year 2016   

EFCA is delighted to announce that Kristoffer Sørensen (Denmark) is the winner of the seventh edition of the EFCA Young Professionals competition.

A total of 13 young professionals from 8 countries entered the high-level contest, all projects were of remarkably high quality, which made the evaluation that much more difficult for the jury.

Kristoffer SørensenThe winner, Kristoffer Sørensen, is 29 years old and works for Sweco Denmark. He is a project manager and a refrigeration and thermal energy systems specialist. For his winning project, the installation of a new refrigeration system, Kristoffer worked as refrigeration specialist and project manager, and had the main responsibilities of construction management and commissioning for the client when it came to the replacement of the refrigeration system.

Kristoffer demonstrated special attention to elements of sustainability, innovation, communication, and a vast knowledge in the field of refrigeration. As project manager, he showed a very high level of professionalism and focused project management skills.

With this, Kristoffer has won a trip to Sofia and is now participating in the 2-3 June EFCA – BACEA 2016 conference and the YP sessions, where he will be presenting his project.

The jury also congratulates the two runners-up: Arnt Fredriksen (Norway) and Jens Rosenville (Denmark).

Arnt Fredriksen, 31 years old, works as a specialist engineer in marine hydrodynamics at Multiconsult. In both of his submitted projects, he proved to have an acute affinity for running experiments, especially in relation to floating structures and marine aquaculture installations.

Jens Rosenville is 32 years old and works as a lead consultant for Rambøll in Copenhagen. For his project, the design of a gas wellhead platform jacket, he had the responsibility of being lead analysis engineer, handled all technical issues with the client, and worked in very close collaboration with the project manager and engineering manager.

Both of them received an award of €500 for participation in the EFCA conference in Sofia.

The French Grand Prix of Engineering
The national Grand Prix of Engineering in France is organised yearly by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Energy, the Ministry of Economy and Finances, Syntec-Ingénierie, and is in collaboration with the Groupe Moniteur competition.
