Structure

This network is open to all Young Professionals in our sector, who are 40 years or younger, and active in firms that are within EFCA membership.

YP activities are led by a steering group of members from different countries. The steering group for 2012 is: Morton Alsdorf (Denmark), Thomas Jensen (Denmark), Francisco Roca (France), Peter Matthes (Germany), Peter Tinga (the Netherlands) and Marcin Mikulewicz (Poland).

Young Professionals competition for engineering excellence

EFCA organises an annual competition for Young Professionals, judged by a panel of experts from the Board of Directors.  The winner and two runners up are rewarded with financial support to actively participate in EFCA’s annual conference and YP meeting.

2011 Competition results

  • Winner: Peter Bønløkke Adamsen (Denmark)

    Project - environment/nature restoration - creation of fauna passages and protection of fish stocks 
  • Runners up:
    • Francisco Roca (France)             Project – Bouregreg Bridge
    • Frank Schwartz (Denmark)         Project - high-rise structures

    The 2012 competition has been launched and the deadline for entering is 12 March 2012.  Prize winners will attend the annual conference and YP meeting in Lisbon on 24-25 May 2012.  For details, see the News item in the blue box above, or email us at yp@efca.be

Events

YP meetings take place twice a year, one on the occasion of the annual EFCA conference and the second organised by a national association.

The next meeting will take place on 24th May 2012 in Lisbon. Details will be announced in February.

The last meeting was held in Berlin on Thursday 26th May 2011. The report on the outcomes of the meeting is available here.
