EFCA-FEACO seminar : Role, quality and financial management of development assistance

Thu 30/10/2008 10:00 to 16:00

Putting the case for quality aid projects and adequate procedures

EFCA and FEACO, representing the European engineering and management consultancy firms that deliver the know-how in the implementation of EU development projects, made positive contributions to ensure effective aid support at a well-attended seminar.

EFCA and FEACO organised a seminar to screen a series of current EuropeAid procedures, illustrate good practices of other development agencies and offer the firms’ expertise in the field for delivering quality aid.

‘It is both a timely contribution from the industry, and a positive engagement for collaboration with its client in order to achieve the requisite quality standards’ said EFCA Board member Hannes Posch in his introductory statement.
His invitation to participate in the dialogue to provide for a change process and a continuous improvement in proposed solutions and approaches did not fall on deaf ears.
All speakers, including EuropeAid, provided challenging contributions and looked at measures at policy and project level that are critical for achieving development objectives.

The questions raised will be taken back into EFCA’s external aid Committee with a view to elaborate further best practice and EFCA policy.

Location: Renaissance Hotel, Rue du Parnasse 19 , Brussels
