EFCA and FIDIC agreement seals closer working relationship

The EFCA and FIDIC Presidents signed a co-operation agreement during the EFCA General Assembly Meeting in Rome on 27th May 2010, thus bringing to a successful conclusion a discussion process of several years which has involved consultations with all European member associations and negotiation of the agreement between representatives of the two Federations.

By strengthening the co-operation between EFCA and FIDIC, it is intended to bring unity to the voice of the consulting engineering industry in a European and global context, thereby enhancing its image and influence. It will also bring double value to European member associations, in terms of added value from the increased synergy as well as efficiency through rationalisation of activities, ensuring that members’ subscription fees are put to the best possible use.

The Managing Directors of both federations are responsible for the implementation of the terms of the agreement; the Presidents of the two Federations will oversee its implementation for the first years, followed by designated members of their Boards. In accordance with the agreement, the Managing Directors will put into practice the respective roles, responsibilities and representational activities of each association, and the services to be provided by the secretariats. EFCA communication channels will in future promote the liaison with the message “Representing FIDIC in Europe” and the FIDIC logo.
