New Board appointments at EFCA GAM

At the General Assembly Meeting in Rome on 27th May 2010, Jan Bosschem (pictured below) was appointed as President-Elect, to take over the reins of EFCA from Panos Panagopoulos in 2011.*  Mr Bosschem is CEO of Grontmij Belgium. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2005, as Treasurer and subsequently Vice-President.

Facing a time of crisis for the industry, with new business models and the challenges of globalisation, Mr Bosschem announced that during his presidency his priorities will be strong collaboration with the member associations and with FIDIC.

The following nominations were also confirmed during the meeting :

José Luis González Vallvé, President of Tecniberia (Spain) was given a mandate for a three year term.

Paul Oortwijn, Managing Director of NLengineers (Netherlands) was elected to replace Michael Whitwell, following ACE’s departure from EFCA, for the two years remaining on this mandate.

Victor Carneiro, President of APPC (Portugal) and Executive President of COBA was elected with a three year mandate.

The EFCA Secretariat welcomes these appointments, and looks forward to continuing good working relations with the Board of Directors.

*The 2011 General Assembly Meeting will be held in Berlin, on a date to be announced.
