Practical and business-oriented EFCA webinar on KfW and AFD procurement procedures for consulting services illustrates the value of a constructive dialogue between European development finance institutions and the engineering consulting industry.
European good practice in procurement should be better known internationally and used as an example.
Over 120 participants attended the webinar, moderated by Inés Ferguson, Chair of the EFCA European External Aid Committee and EFCA Board member.
Ralf Meyerhoff, Head of the International Committee at VBI, outlined the German companies’ experience with KfW tender procedures and contracts.
Emeline Oudin and Xavier Mesnard from AFD introduced the activity of the Agency during 2017-2020 and the distribution of awarded consulting services contracts. They explained AFD’s procurement procedures and highlighted three good practices related to ESHS, security and taxes that have been developed in cooperation and consultation with Syntec-Ingénierie, the French engineering consulting association.
Eloi Granboulan commented on the beneficial cooperation between Syntec and AFD to include critical topics for the business in the procurement process.
