EFCA welcomes two new members of the Board of Directors

The virtual 2021 General Assembly Meeting of the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA), held on 2 June 2021, has appointed Sarah Ingle, Secretary General of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI), and Søren Adamsen, Executive Business Development Director for COWI's international business, a seat in the Board of Directors.

‘I am looking forward to continuing my contribution to EFCA’s advocacy and lobbying work to promote the interests of the Engineering Consultancy sector in Europe across a variety of matters, ranging from sustainability to technology to public procurement,’ said Sarah Ingle.

‘EFCA provides a platform where consulting engineering experts can exchange best practices, share concerns and work together towards influencing EU legislation. Finding a common ground between the priorities of the industry and of European policymakers is of great importance for EFCA. I am pleased to be part of this dialogue,’ said Søren Adamsen.

Sarah Ingle was appointed Secretary General of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) in 2015 and has been an active member of EFCA since then. ACEI is a self-regulatory professional body representing the business and professional interests of the Consulting Engineering sector in Ireland.

As Secretary General of ACEI, Sarah Ingle is responsible for ACEI’s internal finances, governance, management, events and training courses as well as for its international representation. Sarah Ingle was a member of the FIDIC Advisory Council for two years, assisting in providing contributions to support and advise the FIDIC Board. She is a member of the Irish Fulbright Commission Board.

Søren Adamsen joined COWI in 2003, a leading international consulting group, specialising in engineering, environmental science and economics. As Executive Business Development Director of the Business Line International, he is responsible for strategic management, change management, and leading business development.

Søren Adamsen also served as board member and vice chairman of the Danish Association for Consulting Engineers (FRI) between 2016 and 2021.
