During today’s General Assembly in Luxembourg, EFCA confirmed several important appointments to its Board and approved a second term for its President.
Inés Ferguson elected to stay as EFCA President for second term
Following her successful period in office to date, the General Assembly approved a second three-year term starting in 2026. Originally taking up the role in June 2023, Inés has championed sustainable and quality-based procurement and further developed partnerships with other European federations, including contractors, architects and consultants, as well having a higher level of interaction with the European Commission and the European Investment Bank. She has promoted diversity in the leadership, a closer relationship with the actual and potential membership and greater visibility for EFCA, according to the strategic plan 2023-2026. Her key achievement in her first term so far, was securing a new partnership agreement with International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), the equivalent federation at global level. Speaking to members following the vote, Ms Ferguson thanked them for their trust in her. “I am honoured to serve the consulting engineers in Europe. With the support of the Board and the EFCA secretariat, I am looking forward to building on our achievements as a federation over the last three years” she said. “We continue to raise our ambitions and ensure our influence, as a force for delivering the green and digital transitions; and innovators in the push for greater resilience and efficiency of our built environment.” Her reappointment marks the first time an EFCA President has continued for a second term.
Despina Kallidromitou re-elected as Director for second term
The General Assembly also confirmed a second three-year term for existing Director Despina Kallidromitou. As an engineer herself and President of HELLASCO – EFCA’s Greek Member Association - this second term recognises her valuable contribution to the Board’s work and strategic initiatives.
Sébastien Pailhès and Francesca Federzoni appointed as new EFCA Directors
The Assembly appointed Sébastien Pailhès as a new EFCA Director, following the departure of past EFCA President Benoît Clocheret, who stayed on after the conclusion of his term as President to support and guide the Board. With his extensive experience and leadership in the consulting engineering sector, Sébastien is well positioned to contribute meaningfully to EFCA’s strategic direction.
Also appointed was Francesca Federzoni who is joining the Board to complete the term of Roberto Carpaneto, who stepped down part way through his term. Frederica is a strong advocate of sustainability, digitalisation and transparent procurement; and she is committed to supporting consultancy firms of all sizes, particularly SMEs.
